Samoset Boatworks, Inc. (SBI) is a full service boat shop, blending the best of traditional Maine craftsmanship with the newest technologies and engineering. Building high-end, custom, seaworthy boats is at the heart of our enterprise – always with the discriminating yachtsman in mind.
Under construction today in our Boothbay headquarters is our own design: the Samoset 30 – a unique 30-foot, center console, sport fishing boat – cold-molded, inboard diesel powered, and exceptionally fuel efficient. The Samoset 30 – a thoroughly outfitted, appropriately-priced, “Gentleman’s Day Boat” – is projected for early summer, 2008 sea trials and delivery.
Samoset Boatworks offers the highest quality new construction, custom design, traditional restoration, modifications, refit and repair, all under the helm of Matthew Sledge, president, a veteran of 20 years in the maritime industry. We pride ourselves on the notable custom boats we have had the privilege to help build: ten America’s Cup, two Whitbread, a Volvo Challenge, eight-man and single rowing shells, many cruising boats, both power and sail.
