REFIT & RESTORE

Samoset Boatworks is a full service, custom boat shop, experienced in all aspects of repair, refit, modification and restoration of wood and fiberglass commercial, recreational, and racing boats. We are skilled in assessing structural and cosmetic damage and have extensive experience installing new systems. Having logged over 50,000 miles at sea in a variety of power and sail vessels – large and small – we can competently assess the seaworthiness of our refits.

We offer a full range of carpentry, painting, mechanical, electrical and seasonal maintenance. Our service and concern for the safety of our owners is second to none.

Notable Repairs & Refits

Stars and Stripes 95 
Added additional structure to allow the attachment of the keel seven feet forward, while maintaining the same LCG (Longitudinal Center of Gravity).

Spirit of Unum
Assessed and rebuilt 200-250 sq. ft. of hull and deck, the foredeck hatch, and some structural additions after she was struck by the French America’s Cup Boat.

Pact 95
Assessed and repaired damage to the hull after a tornado threw the boat on its side. Also repaired hull damage and installed more structure after she fell off a 20’ foot wave.

IMS 40’
In one night, rebuilt 40-50 sq. ft. of hull and deck, while the boat remained in the water. The boat made the start line the next morning for Block Island Race Week.
